Return

Back in the swing of things. That crazy rush that happens when you switch from home life back to school life, the schedule changes, the new people, the old faces. Back to practicing, back to throwing, back to playing ultimate. Back to no laundry machines, no dishwashers and a leaky closet. Life is good.

Mini recap on life (because I am a slacker at posting)... Classes have started, are going well. The film school screwed me out of a class I need to take for my minor, which I really hope won't put me behind for graduation.

Started playing ultimate again, and working out. My body hurts most days, but I can feel myself getting stronger, which is really exciting. Watched PINK and the Hellions play at Santa Barbara. The Hellions finished 4th, which was really exciting, but also frustrating because we'd only had two practices before that tournament. The B Team did great! And life keeps moving on...

The hernia is healing! Tomorrow will be 8 weeks after surgery which means I am cleared to play. Which is fortunate because Pres Day is this weekend, and I am so stoked to be on the line instead of on the sidelines. Practicing has been going well, but I really need to work on my touch throws and man defense. Goals for the semester. I am also a little nervous about how my playing in real games will effect the rest of the team's flow and how three days of ultimate will feel on my incision... all unknowns. But I am so excited to be playing that I almost can't focus on anything else.

I went to Vegas last weekend to watch some ultimate and see what Sin City is like when you're 21. It didn't disappoint, but the weather did. Those hay fields in Vegas turned to muddy slop. I didn't stand out there too long, got to see some good games though. And had fun with my teammates that went. I wish I had pictures to show you, but my camera is on the fritz. :(

I will be posting more. It's my... February... resolution.
